森を歩くとき、晴れよりも雨を望んでしまうのは、水に浸された森が生き生きとして目に映るからだろう。 水滴を含んだ苔の潤いや雨水の伝う巨樹の表皮がただ美しい。 これを写し込めるものなのかなといぶかしげにカメラを構えてみる。 そうこうしているうちに雨脚は強くなり、無数の葉が無数の雨粒をはじく音に身体が包み込まれる。 粒は流れとなって樹々を辿り、苔に吸い込まれていく。苔に覆われた倒木をしばらく眺めてみる。 それはまるで時間の塊のようで、過去も現在も未来までも含まれているような気がした。

雑誌や広告を中心に、自然に関わる分野を幅広く撮影。自然風景、自然と人々、動物の保護施設などをテーマに撮影している。モノクローム・フォトグラフィー・アワード風景部門年度賞受賞ほか、ナショナルジオグラフィック国際フォトコンテスト、レンズカルチャー「地球写真賞」、インターナショナル・フォトグラフィー・アワード、ネイチャーズ・ベスト・インターナショナル・アワードなど主要な国際写真賞に多数入賞。米国立スミソニアン自然史博物館にも写真が展示される。
